CAYUGA COUNTY SPORTSMEN’S ASSOCIATION MEMBER GUIDELINES


 Rifle Range:  Monday through Saturday 9:00 AM till dusk, unless a special event is being held.  Sundays 3:00 PM till dusk, unless the Sporting Clay field is open. (There will be no range shooting when the clay course is open)

ALL STATE & LOCAL LAWS MUST BE OBEYED

**From April until October, Correction Officers from the   Cayuga Correctional Facility rent the upper club house Monday through Fridays 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM and they use the Rifle Range for their training.  If you are interested in using the Range during those times, please consult with an officer in charge.


NO shooting is allowed  when the orange warning flag (signaling someone is is the woods)  is raised (pole in front of Rifle Range).

Only paper targets will be used on the range, cans, glass bottles or other type targets are prohibited.

Pick up all targets, trash, and wood, shell casing, etc. from the Rifle Range and carry them out with you or place them in a receptacle.

NO smoking when using black powder.

NO alcoholic beverages are allowed on the rifle range at any time.

 RIFLE  RANGE RULES that address automatic type weapons:

Limit rate of fire, 3 secs between shots.
Limit 7 rounds max in a magazine.
NO rapid fire, hell fire, or magazine dumps.
NO 50 caliber or larger may be used except single shot black powder.

Any changes, amendments, or exceptions to range guidelines must have written approval from the Board of Directors.

Please respect your fellow member’s privacy and refrain from any pictures or video recordings on the range.

All shooting and club safety rules are to be followed at ALL times. 

Any member or non-member observed breaking the above rules will be expelled from the club.

 

Members may not use shooting traps or other Club equipment unless a Club official or Board member is present or notified before any use.

No hunting is allowed on club grounds unless a Club officer / Board member.

The Pond is available for Club Member Use – Natural Bait Only, All Fishing is “Catch and Release” –

All State and Local Laws must be followed

Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.  All members are encouraged to attend and participate.
